I did a first test drive this morning: I have ridden many recumbent bikes but this trip surpassed everything.

The Slyway ULTRA features a number of innovations: disc brakes, a frame and fork designed to accommodate larger wheels, internal cable routing and the clever positioning of the seat to reduce vibrations. I have already taken part to a few British Human Power Club events and the results were very good. The general bike handling is probably the best of all the high-racers I have ridden.

It is hard to quantify which feature I love the most as I love all the parts make up the whole! I do like the look of the stem and handlebar and the aero cover for the stem. I like the rear dropouts without seat stays to ruin the lines. I like the rakish boom and its derailleur fin. The ULTRA is stupendous, beautifully made, light and fast.

I have finished the basic assembly and took a first ride: It only took about 2 miles before the wobbles were gone. That is amazing compared with my previous high-racer. I was getting similar speeds at same effort in my neighborhood and I have not even adapted my muscles to the bike, so that is good news.

scratch and there are quite a few details.

The bike is brilliant. Fast, comfortable and easy to ride. Love the gearing and short
cranks. Climbs and sprints very well. This is the first High Racer I’ve had with a good turning circle.
Climbing is the best I’ve experienced on any other recumbents.
Times for comparable climbs and power are 3-5% less.
